GERHARD BRUCE is a software developer & programmer, entrepreneur & owner of Wow!Media.
He gained his business experience from working in the corporate industry, having his own business, and joining a partnership to establish a business that was purchased by one of SA’s largest hosting companies.
Gerhard obtained his programming diploma with distinction. He started in the ICT industry 14 years ago, giving technical support in the Hetzner Africa call centre. Hetzner is a leading web hosting company in South Africa. Since then he has created numerous websites with and without e-commerce functions, programmed various web based software systems, provided training in WordPress and started a hosting company. Before that he worked for local, provincial and national government. He also holds two honours degrees in Development Studies, specialising in African Studies, and Public Sector Management.
Gerhard was invited by two radio stations as an IT expert to present a series of programmes where listeners were informed about all IT related topics.
His vision for Wow!Media is to maintain a small, exclusive client base, so that the company can provide extremely high levels of service. Eventually the company aims to have well-trained support staff that will be sourced from the previously disadvantaged community. Skills will be transferred to staff members to set them up on their own career paths.
